Open Forum Friday
"Open Forum Friday" is a chance for students to submit the topic of their post. Each Friday, a topic will be chosen at random from the "Forum Suggestion" box. Sometimes, they are funny and whimsical;other times, they are serious and thought-provoking. Either way, they are your suggestions. Answer with your own, geniune thoughts. Simple enough, right? Today's "Friday Forum" topic is "What is your definition of ethics or ethical behavior?"

English Non-errors
This site is dedicated to "those usages people keep telling you that are wrong, but are actually standard in English." It's an interesting list without being overwhelming. Check it out and become smarter than the people around you (smiles). www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/nonerrors.html

Learning Styles
A learning style is a method of learning particular to an individual that is presumed to allow that individual to learn best. It is commonly believed that most people favor some particular method of interacting with, taking in, and processing stimuli or information. Visit www.engr.ncsu.edu/learningstyles/ilsweb.html and complete the online learning styles questionnaire. My results indicated I was a reflective, sensing, verbal, and sequential learner. What is your learning style?

Your Vote
In November 2008, Americans would have voted for a new U.S. President. I hope we have the sense not to elect Hillary ("the shoe") Clinton. I don't particularly care for Rudy Giuliani either. However, my political views are not important at the moment. What is important is the ability to make informed choices. Choices that are derived from known facts and genuine substance, not unsubstantiated hype and the drive-by media. For this assignment you will have to make such a choice. Pick any two candidates, a Republican and a Democrat, vying for the U.S. presidency. Visit www.wikipedia.org and www.factcheck.org to examine their position on a couple of issues that are important to you. Then, vote. Explain why you voted for your candidate.

Welcome
The people have spoken. "Another Classroom Blog" is the name that the students have chosen. Actually, the winning name was "(sigh) Another classroom blog (curse technology), but I guess it beats having to carry another book." Regardless, another classroom's blog was born. The purpose of this blog is simple. Its intent is to (1) present a few of my thoughts, (2) create a forum for students on a given topic, (3) provide information and/or activities conducive to the subject study, and (4) help foster each students ability to be an independent thinker.
